Ryan Ruhl #16

Ryan Ruhl was born February 23, 1987 in Coldwater Michigan where he currently lives.
Ryan’s love for sprint cars came at an early age when Ryan would attend Saturday night Races at Butler Motor Speedway to watch his dad race Mini Sprints. From then on Ryan had a need for speed. He wanted to race sprints, but he thought he better try his luck with go-carts first. He raced them for several years before giving in the urge for a full fledge Sprint Car.
Ryan bought his first sprint car 2006 where he raced the #27 Tri-State Machine and C & C Contractors sponsored tumbler at Butler Motor Speedway. He finished out the season with Rookie of the Year.
In 2007 He decided to take a shot away from Butler to following the traveling series of Sprint on Dirt. Ryan finished out his first season with SOD as Rookie of the year. With the help from his family Ruhl Racing made lots of progress over time, Morphing in to the # 16 you see today. Over the past few years Ryan has followed the SOD series and has had numerous top 10 points finishes. 2014 season came to a close with Ryan picking up second in SOD points for the series. Ryan also received Short track Challenge Winner and 2014 SOD Driver of the Year.
Still not sure what 2015 holds, but we are excited to see what he is capable of.

  1. I was driving down I-94 today and saw your trailer. I did a double take. Our last name is Ruhl. I have an 8 yr. old grand-daughter who races motocross. This will be her third year. The men all say she races like one of the guys.
Anyway, not a real common name. Just thought I’d say HI!

  2. Do you still race? We have went all over to watch you race according to your schedule this year and only saw you at butler. This past weekend for the three day event we didnt see you at any of the three.

    1. Sorry about that. Yes we do still race, we had something come up and couldn’t make it last weekend. We should have updated the schedule to reflect that.

  3. My three kids were so excited to watch you race last night. Then to be able to get your autograph, really made their night. You are one great racer. Sorry that you were robbed of your win last night, that was all yours.

      1. We will not be able to race this weekend, we have to take the car apart and get the frame repaired, but August 27th we will be at Butler Motor Speedway.
